QuestionHow many points are in a volleyball game?DonaganTop AnswererThis varies somewhat depending on the setting. Typically, teams will play to 25 points, but must win by at least two points, so that the score could go higher than 25. In some cases, teams might play to 21 point,s or even 15. Each league make its own scoring rules.

QuestionWhy does one member of a team wear a different-colored shirt to the rest of the team?DonaganTop AnswererThat player is called the "libero." S/he is brought into games for defensive purposes and is not involved in attacking the opponents. S/he plays only in the back row. The libero wears a different shirt because different rules apply to her/him, and so s/he must be clearly identified.

QuestionHow is a point scored?Emily NewtonCommunity AnswerMost of the time, points are scored by getting the ball to hit the floor on the other team’s side of the court. Other ways to score include the other team touching the net, your opponent hitting the ball out of bounds or committing a double.

QuestionI’m pretty good, but my overhand isn’t strong enough. Sometimes my underhand is crooked and it hits wrong, so it doesn’t even go forward. My normal hit isn’t strong enough. I’m very muscular though. What could be the problem? How do I improve my underhand?Community AnswerThe contact point of your hand may be incorrect. Fold your hand into a fist with the thumb off to the side. Now you see that your folded fingers and your fleshy part of the hand are at about the same level if you keep your wrist locked. ( some people just hit the ball off their wrist because it is level too). Step forward with your left foot, swing your entire right arm with wrist locked and contact the ball on a certain spot, on the ball, you have picked out. Now, follow through. The whole thing should end up almost in a dance move, with your arm following the direction of the ball. YouTube it. Use stop action, and see it in action. I'm 67 and a consistent scorer.
