Very carefully. Go with the grain first and take care around your ankles and knees. Then, if you dare, go against the grain. With straight razors, you can't really go sideways, so two passes is usually enough.

It is very difficult to get the proper angle on your head without cutting yourself, made more difficult by the areas of your head you can't see clearly. Start on facial hair or other areas. When you feel comfortable with that, use multiple mirrors to attempt your head. Pull the skin tight on the sides and back of the head, but on top there's not much of a need to. Apart from that, stick to the same instructions.
