Look for ways to maximize your storage space. You can put winter clothes into plastic bins, then store those under your bed to keep them out of the way. To save even more space, you can place them in a bag and suction all the air out.

Fold your winter clothes and store them in a spare closet. If you don't have an extra closet, put your clothes in a box or bag and store them in the back corner of your closet to make room for your summer clothes.
  • Question
Can I put clothes in plastic trash bags?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can do this, but the clothes will most likely come out wrinkled and in not great condition. This works well for children's clothes, as they are made to be tougher, but for most people, this is not a good idea.
  • Question
How can I store winter socks?
    Community Answer
You can put them in an extra drawer, or use a space saver bag to store them for when you do not need them.
  • Question
Can you safely store winter clothes in the attic?
    Community Answer
Put lots of anti-moth protectant in the storage bag. If it is a garbage bag, do two layers and bunch up the top in your hand, make a small space with your finger and suck out all the air, then tie it up.
  • Question
Can winter clothes be stored in a suitcase?
    Lilylovers
    Top Answerer
Yes, but be sure that you will not need the suitcase until it is time to unpack your winter clothes. Also, many suitcases don't shut tight, so moths might still be able to squeeze in; keep that in mind.
  • Question
What clothes should I keep out in the winter?
    Paris25
    Community Answer
You should keep out warm sweaters, jeans, long-sleeved shirts, and if you have them, snow pants. You could also keep out t-shirts if you don't get too cold, or you could put on a hoodie over them. That being said, also keep out hoodies.
  • Question
Should you put in a scent like a lavender packet at the bottom of storage container?
    Otterly Badgerific
    Top Answerer
Lavender is an excellent scent to include in a storage container. Not only does it release a lovely odor through the stored clothing and other fabric items but it also helps to repel moths, as they do not like the scent of lavender. Try to use freshly dried lavender for the best potency, and seal it inside a small cloth bag to prevent if from going everywhere. If the container is large, you may need more than one bag.
