Well, not every dog will enjoy playing with Frisbees, but if your dog enjoys playing fetch, you might be able to engage him with a little effort, like feeding him a few treats on it so he forms a positive association.

Maybe he doesn't understand how it works. Start by letting him sniff the Frisbee. Then use it along with his other toys for playtime so he understands what it’s for. Next, play tug of war for a few days with the Frisbee and try gently tossing it a couple feet away and see if he’ll catch it. Praise him whenever he tries to get it.

  • Question
What can I do to get my puppy to drop a Frisbee if it won't, even with a treat in my hand?

Try using 2 dog Frisbees. If the dog won't drop the Frisbee it has, you can use a second disc to entice your dog to drop the one in its mouth.
  • Question
How do I teach a dog to hold on to the Frisbee after retrieving it?

One way to do this is to put a treat in the Frisbee upside-down when the dog brings it back to you. Eventually it will figure out that it doesn't get treats unless you get the disk back.
  • Question
My dog is amazing at destroying things, and playing keep away. Are there any more tips on how to get my Frisbee back from him?
    Community Answer
It did say to entice the dog with another Frisbee in your hand and the dog will drop the one in its mouth in order to try to get yours. My dog catches in air now and using multiple frisbees works to get him to give it up and so do treats.
