My car loses power when driving uphill and when I check the fuel injectors by pulling off the switch from ignition coil pencils, one didn't change the engine idle, what causes it?

I am getting #5 misfire error code. I switched the spark plugs and wires and still received the same code. Could the injector be bad?

There are a number of issues that may cause a misfire in your engine. A faulty ignition coil could be failing to transmit power to the spark plugs that you replaced, but a fuel injector could also be the culprit.

I have to spray starter fluid to make it run. Any suggestions?

It could be that the fuel pump itself is not holding residual pressure when turned off. Listen for a "click" sound coming from the pump when you key the car on. You can also try cycling the key between off and run several times to allow the pump to prime the fuel lines.

How often do I need to give my truck a tune-up?

It depends on the age of your truck. Back in the 1970's automakers began using electronic ignition and electronic fuel injection in order to meet emissions and fuel efficiency standards. Older cars had electromagnetic parts that would wear out and need to be replaced. This is part of what used to be call a "tune-up." Since 1994 most all cars have a computer that controls most all of the "tuneable" variables. Today, "tune-up" has no real meaning. Following your truck's maintenance schedule in the owners manual is all you need to do unless you are experiencing a problem. Don't ask a shop for a tune-up. You could get sold a package of unnecessary tests that are pure profit for the shop.

The 3rd injector on my 2014 R1 Yamaha clicks when plugged in, but won't work when it's running even though it has power. What could be the problem?

Power to the injectors is usually permanent. What completes the circuit and makes the injectors click and spray is temporary grounding, controlled by the computer.
