If you have an older version of MS Word and have lost the original packaging with the product key on it, you may be able to extract the product key using a variety of key extractors that you can download from the web.

I had this problem and went to the Microsoft support site through my Microsoft account. I did a support chat and the person was able to look up my information from the license key I provided and enter an override code to activate my license. It was very easy and only took about 15 minutes.

Is there a way to key the product key from my old computer?

If you want to see the key on your old computer, this can be done by downloading and installing a free software, called Belarc Advisor. After running it, it will find a number of keys on your old computer. Belarc is free to use for personal use and it shows you, under "software licences", the Windows licence last 4 digits/signs, as well as the full MS Office licence, installed on your PC.
