  • Question
What is the significance of the streak?
    Community Answer
The streak judges how many consecutive days you have reached your activity goal. For example, if you had a goal of doing 50XP every day, then you would need to do 50XP (five exercises) to continue your streak. If you are aware that you might miss a day, then you can buy a streak freeze in the Lingot store that will retain your streak even if you do not complete the required amount of activity.

The Hearts in Duolingo are like lives. If you fail a lesson, you lose a heart. You lose lesson hearts every time you get a question wrong. Gems are items you earn to buy things like power-ups.
