    Expert Answer
Pair a short skirt with a long-sleeve or quarter-sleeve top. By showing less skin on your upper body, it'll balance out the shortness of the skirt!

    Community Answer
Check out at 1960s fashion - miniskirts can look really cute with long socks and boots.
  • Question
Is this feminist friendly or are you saying I shouldn't wear a short skirt?
    Shelbysays

Short skirts are totally feminist friendly. Dress how you want and don't listen to people who try to force you to dress how they want you to.
  • Question
Can I wear a short skirt while going commando?
    Community Answer
While it is entirely up to you, be aware that there is a high chance your private parts will show. If you're fine with that, go ahead.
  • Question
Is it okay to wear a miniskirt to work in an office that has an informal dress code?
    Community Answer
Not in most corporate environments. You should go with a hemline touching your knees, at the shortest.
  • Question
If I'm a guy, is it okay to wear skirts?

  • Question
What if the skirt gets blown by wind?
    Community Answer
Safety shorts are your solution to this problem. Or hold your skirt down when it is windy.
  • Question
What do I do if I want to wear a short dress in summer and it's too hot for leggings?
    Community Answer
Just wear it without leggings. It's very normal for women to wear short dresses without leggings. Just be sure to move and sit in a ladylike manner to prevent any accidental exposure.
  • Question
How should a woman stand in a short skin? Legs together or legs apart?
    Community Answer
You should stand with your legs together - it makes you appear more feminine, and that's what women are generally going for when they wear skirts.
  • Question
How do I avoid the tiny triangle from showing when I keep my legs closed when seated?
    Community Answer
Either cross your legs instead, wear a longer skirt, or put something like a purse in front to block the tiny triangle.
  • Question
How do I walk up stairs while wearing a short skirt?
    Community Answer
Walk the way you would normally. To prevent upskirts, hold the side of your skirt and pull it forward. If it's a figure-hugging skirt, hold something like a handbag behind your skirt to block any views up your skirt from below. If you feel it's hard to walk up the stairs or you suspect people are looking up your skirt, take the elevator.
  • Question
Why do people want to go commando?
    Curtis Fairgrieve
    Community Answer
Some find it more comfortable than wearing underwear and receive more fresh air than if they were to wear loose underwear. The choice is yours, but if you don't want a gust of wind to suddenly expose your buttocks to anyone, wear underwear. Same applies if you are going to school or have an important event to attend, use caution.
  • Question
How can I shorten a skirt?
    Community Answer
Roll the hem inside as short as you like, iron it and sew along the line. If the skirt is already heavy around the hem, measure the length you want the skirt to be. Add 5 inches or however you like for the new hem line. Cut the skirt, roll the 4-5 inches you left for the hem. Remember to make two rolls of 2 inches each. Iron after rolling to have it look neat before sewing. Sew it with a matching thread and thin needle if you prefer thinner ones.
