Whenever I get messages from other users saying thank you for your edit or any comment, I may have nothing to say back to them, but I feel like I’m ignoring them that way. On Wikipedia there is a similar way to do that (thank them for an edit) on a talk page, and I can give the user a notification that I got their message with a thumbs up option.
I don’t think a TU will be most suitible. I think some thing more of a “like” will be better. So, if someone leave’s a message, you can “like” the comment.
I believe that the engineers are quite busy, so I don’t think this will be implemented soon even if there is a consensus. I’m not sure though!
I think this is a really good idea, whenever I see a nice talk page message, I have an urge to give it a thumbs up but then realise you can’t do that!
I do also agree with Wikia, I don’t think this is completely necessary, maybe if the engineers have some time it might be a nice addition to the site, but only if they don’t have a big workload. Just my opinion, what do you think? :D
Yes.True.I don’t have too much messages,so…But a like will be good I think…But there are kinda thousands of people here, and, there are crores of messages! How will the engineers do it?
It’s a heavy load,I think…
I do believe this would be a great idea!
This would be nice. I already know of a MediaWiki extension
used on Wikipedia that does essentially the same thing, but it works on edits, deletions, and page protections. I think this is a great way to promote WikiLove and encourage a warm collegial atmosphere. It is also a neat way to thank an admin for something they did.

I think this is a really nice idea @Rock20000
. No promises, but I’ll check if we can look into implementing something like this down the line :)
