When I sent a message from welcome wagon, I saw the diff and the diff showed it was 7 minutes ago: http://www.wikihow.com/Image:Screen-Shot-2014-12-07-at-12.00.55-PM.png
When I saw how the page looked now, it said it was 3 minutes ago: http://www.wikihow.com/Image:Screen-Shot-2014-12-07-at-12.00.44-PM.png
EDIT_ it may be more time now, but they still are mixed up.

My best guess is that the two systems round the time differently - and of course, if you’re on the page for a while, the times can get further out of synch too. I see the discrepancy, but reckon it’s probably not a huge deal for most folks - you can always check the exact time on the history page if you need to know it. @Lojjik
might be able to shed some more light on why they’re different, but my best guess is this is probably something low on the list of priorities for adjusting, since it’s still generally usable as is. Good catch though, Hailey - you’ve got such a good eye for details!

Hi Hailey! Make sure your computer time is synchronized with a time server – the time in RC is extracted from the wikiHow web server you pulled the diff from, whereas the time shown on talk pages is from your computer. If the two are off, you will see a discrepancy.
Also, when you are looking at a diff, the one on the talk page message will update, but the one in the diff will not (unless you refresh the page) Aside from that, there may be slight-rounding differences minute-to-minute but not by more than 1 minute. Lojjik
