Hi WE14! It is a software wiki where contributors can write and edit articles about types of software (computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel), computer software such as Mac and Windows, and software careers. In those articles, contributors are encouraged to write how-to guides on how to install/use certain software, or try for a certain software career. In addition, contributors can write how-to guides with tips on buying Mac computers, Windows computers, etc. The about page and community guidelines of the wiki, which I will get written down soon, will offer a more detailed explanation. I’m glad you’re interested!

I will extend the wiki’s functionality with some new extensions as soon as possible.

I’m not completely sure if I’ll join yet, but I’ll keep it in mind:slight_smile:After all, I’m very busy here at wikiHow, and it might be a little too much to do two wikis. Like I said, though, I’ll still consider it. I just wanted some background information.

You should write a few how-to articles of your own on the wiki so that there’s some content on it. Wikis without content aren’t likely to attract people. I’ll consider joining, but I want to see what kind of content there is first.

Thanks Hailey, I checked. It should appear now, sorry about that! I was trying to install extensions but they unfortunately broke the wiki temporarily:confused:

The wiki isn’t all about how-tos; it is an encyclopedia with information about certain software and guides on how to buy software, install software, use software, etc. The short how-to guides can be found inside the encyclopedic pages. I’m working on starting to build it though!

Would you like to help come up with good rules (not so strict that contributing isn’t fun) and write them up? If you would like to help more on the content part, you may do that too. It’s your preference!
