I have a somewhat dumb question. What is the best way to tell if a link someone inserted is broken when patrolling? Please help!

Great question, @MysticStar44
! If it’s an internal link (ie one to another wikiHow page, with [
] around the title) and it’s broken, it’ll be red. If it’s a good link, it’ll be green. For external links (to other sites, sometimes with a
around them), you’d just have to click on them to check. Does that make sense?
I have a question too. Some external links show in black color. Like in this article: https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Brownies-in-a-Mug
The first and the eighth url in the sources. I sometimes see some black wikiHow Article links in the related wikiHow section. If that article doesn’t exist, it shows red so I check for the blackened link’s title in the search bar to see if that article exists. Sometimes those exact titles show as articles and at times it doesn’t. The syntax was proper. https://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Get-Your-Cat-to-Like-You&diff=25361866&oldid=25361796

Hey Vish, Those black links are missing the http:// or https:// (depending on which applies) and just start with www. If you add in that missing piece the links will display green.
Hey Eric, I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing the info with me!
