Although I don’t want to change any usernames I have on wikiHow right away, I’ve been noticing some trouble with the self-changing tool.
Although I know it’s changing the display and login names on the main site, when you come into the forums, the self-changing tool isn’t changing the usernames to the updated name, unlike the actions when it’s handled by staff. I know a few people who have changed their names through self-directed methods, but they still appear with their old usernames on the forums, and I am wondering why this is happening, and if there are any plans to fix this so the self-directed can focus on helping there, too. Take for instance, “SnowyRiver28” from Rupert28 (a QAPatroller and Editor) who appears as SnowyRiver28 on the main site and Rupert28 on the forums.

Yeah, there are some quirks with that name change function. I’ll see if we might be able to get some time spent on connecting them in the future, but it probably won’t be a quick fix. In the meantime, anyone can reach out to me if they have issues with names not matching and I can do it manually
