I used to be able to do bunch patrol for a particular user by adding the user to the request end, but now it throws a huge error:

Is this intentional or is this truly a bug? Running FF 46.0.1 on Windows 10

It’s a mirage, it’s just your imagination! Well, errors sound buggy. But I’m not sure what you mean by “I used to be able to do bunch patrol for a particular user by adding the user to the request end”? I just did a Bunch Patrol from  https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Bunchpatrol and it worked okay. Is that where you were doing it?

Nooooo lol.

I used to be able access Special:BunchPatrol/Userhere, and it would immediately take me to the selected users edits, where I could select them all and click “Done”.

Hmm, I’ve never used it that way so I’m not sure, but it might just be that the error pops up when there are no bunch-style edits to patrol for that user? For example, right at this moment, the Special:BunchPatrol page has some possible entries for Alex, and  https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Bunchpatrol/Galactic-Radiance is working for me. Bunch is only designed to work with talk page messages these days, as far as I know, so it might just be that the users you’re trying don’t currently have multiple talk messages out there waiting to be patrolled? If they did, I think they’d show up on  https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Bunchpatrol , right? Have you tried with folks you are sure have “bunches” of unpatrolled talk messages out there?

^ Hey look, that’s me! (I would imitate Marina’s hair flip, but I don’t have enough hair for that…)

Um, to get back on subject, I don’t see anything in Bunch Patrol, but maybe that’s just empty in general right now? I’m not experiencing problems, though.

Edit: Aaaaah! Wait, no, I’m wrong, I’m getting this bug, too! I tried to access Special:Bunchpatrol/Byankno1 but ended up getting this long string of errors. Is it something that affects some users but not others?!

See? I’m not the only one:stuck_out_tongue:

@Galactic-Radiance - are you getting the same errors as Lutherus listed above, or is it the errors you reported elsewhere -  http://forums.wikihow.com/discussion/20462/lines-of-code-appearing-randomly#latest - the text is different so it’ll probably help if we work out which one is happening where! Aaron is looking into the errors you reported on the talk pages but since they’re not happening every single time, it’s a bit hard to pin down. hang in there for us and hopefully we can work it out soon.

@Anna , it’s the same errors that Lutherus listed. Same error codes, too, I believe. Do both of these bugs have something to do with that buggy update to the site that busted all the special pages a few days ago?

Ok cool, thanks for clarifying which codes it was. Nope, the other issue was resolved within a short time of its release, but there are always new tweaks of code being pushed out so anything has the potential to impact other pages. I’ll let Aaron know in case these two newer issues are related. Thanks!

@Lutherus-Shyrilser Hoping that Aaron’s fix for the other issue might have resolved this as well. I got one shot at Bunch and it worked… but I know the problem was only intermittent to begin with so not taking that as a guarantee it’s working smoothly! I’ll keep testing when there’s stuff in there, but if you see the error again, let me know? Thanks!
