While going through some of the projects I’ve created over the years, I’ve noticed several templates that I needed to responsify, which got me thinking: For all those projects I didn’t start, can some users help me responsify the templates for invites and awards?
We have this link of projects
that need this process
done to them. While it’s fairly easy to do (creating a max-width CSS property set to the width CSS size, copying and pasting the width information then changing the width to read 100%), the number of invite and award templates for these projects can make this a bit of a tricky to fix, and may need to be double-checked on a mobile phone. (When used on a talk page (not so much a Discussion page), the template will expand past the border till it terminates at the end-width of the pixel size.)
Can we also update those template designers on the new responsified template creation process so new template take on the responsified look and act? Can we have a script that runs to look for unresponfied templates?
On top of that, the UIB templates aren’t affected at this time by these responsified-template updates. As changes are being made, noted, and fixed elsewhere, this will come. As long they’ve been categorized (and we already have a script to check for uncategorized UIB templates), they’ll come in time to be looked into and responified, color -pleasantness and bug-“fixed.” It’s been noted that some of the text displays in the wrong spot when viewed on some browsers and mobile screens, as well some UIBs where the colors don’t jive for eyesight problems.
I found this
page that discusses Template designs, but it seems too outdated. I don’t know how to predict what colors would be best for what templates, and what designers would find useful to design a template width to make it “pop” out.
There are others in that list that need to be converted to a format which uses the “div” HTML tag. There’s this confusing setup to some where “divs” aren’t used, which makes for one messy setup to utilize and responsify - and it’s not just one or two that’s the issue.
Sorry the initial Google Sheets page wasn’t made editable by link-only. I’ve changed it so you get the updated link and is made editable by link-only. My “notes” column is confusing - I know. Trying to catch an eye-popper explanation for why I’m holding stuff back, is very confusing indeed. If you were to open the Template page then see how the Edit page looks, you’ll see what I’m up against.
Getting these issues cleared, can help lower it down to 1 template. I know I’ve addressed that one issue already, but I do need the help, now that I’ve made that spreadsheet editable.
In various spots of the list, I noticed some Templates were already responsified. I’ve “claimed” them as done with my Username, but if you know which ones really took care of it and can claim it yourself for taking the credit, I’d be willing to let it go to others who really did those few responsifying edits for some of these templates which crossed into Award templates previously.
Any ideas, @JayneG
