I am always wondering…“Why does my cat do this or that?” They are very interesting creatures and I find it fascinating to discover why they do certain behaviors and figure out what they are trying to tell me. For example, the minute I lie down on my bed, my cat will jump up on my stomach and sit facing me just inches from my face and will start to make bread on my chest. Her whiskers stand straight out and the area where the whiskers come out of is sort of puffed up. She really gets into this and has this euphoric look on her face. It’s also interesting to me, that unlike a lot of other cats, she does not make bread (that’s what I call it, but it’s the pushing with their front paws like they are kneading dough to make bread) anywhere else or under any other circumstances. I like to think this is just an extreme sign of adoration on her part. I have had many many cats in my 60 years of life but have never seen this type of action. Most cats do this kneading behavior but they do it in several different ways in different areas and under different types of circumstances. My cat ONLY does this when she is sitting on my stomach.

Each cat is unique, maybe this one just likes doing it there or something? I don’t really know…it can’t be anything bad, unless is she leaving behind marks or anything? If not then it is just affection and love I guess
It is her sign of affection. Lots of cats do this to tell you that they like you. Cats do it when they are kittens to their mothers so they release more milk for the kitten. Your cat really adores you!
