So, I’ve been wondering about this for a long time. Cheesecake has “cake” in it (in English at least, IDK about other languages. It might not even have a direct translation). Is it really a cake, though? A torte, custard pie, flour-less cake…what do you think? I personally think custard pie.
Nah, I consider it a pie as well, hah. It’s basically a filling inside of a crust that’s un-baked. I really don’t get the name; Maybe because it looks like a cake?
Nah What type of cake has cheese in it?
It’s called “cheesecake” cause the consistency is similar to that of cheese. I’d say it’s a pie, cause nearly all cakes have flour in them and they don’t have crusts either.
Delicious, and that’s all that matters.

I was not aware this discussion was still going; made when I had no good forum ideas :/
Yeah I comment on old discussions. But seriously cheese?

…have you not heard of the glorious dessert known as cheesecake? If not, you’re missing out!

I can tell you that Dutch has a word for cheesecake: kwarktaart. The “taart” part means “cake” or “pie”, so I’m afraid that won’t help us find whether cheesecake is cake, pie, or something else.
I thought cheese cake was called cheese cake because it contains cheese…cream cheese that is, typically Marscapone cheese or “Philadelphia” brand type cream cheese.

Yeah, that’s right. I’m wondering if anyone thought it was made of Swiss or something…
Carrot cake with cream cheese icing yo.
Best. Discussion. Ever Yes I really mean that.
I don’t like cheesecake. You’re probably gonna hate me for this.

Nah. Sometimes I get tired of it!
Couldn’t it be considered a tart?
Yeah it’s more like a tart. #cheesecake
