I was asked by somebody today if we had a Facebook group for wikiHow. Do we have a Facebook group? Would a Facebook group be necessary? Please leave your thoughts here!

A lot of the people from wikiHow chat amongst themselves. And, if there’s something we need to discuss privately, you can do so with private messages. If it’s something for the admins to know, we have a group for that, too. June Days

#wait_a_minute , let’s create one… really it would be very useful to @everyone , we can get to know lots of more @wikihow_editors and #keep_up with them, #not_joking … I am just #so_excited right now that I could just $create one group right now… but If I #create_one then I’d become the @admin so it’s be better if one of the real @admins would #create_the_group and add us people:smiley:

I agreed. But one thing; If a group is being created, should it be opened or closed? Oh and you can add more admin later, Akash:slight_smile:

@Akash Maybe you should get some community approval. Thanks June!

I don’t believe you’d need community approval. I created the wH blogs without it, and they’re fine with it. Some were (kind of) interested. I’d just create one and see where it goes. (: June Days

@everybody I really think that it’s #a_very_good_idea @Junedays create one right away so that i #join_the_group i’m losing #patience #LOL I think it should be a #private_group … Creating #that_group has a lotta advantages too I hope @everyone wants a group on facebook

Yeah! Let’s do this. Someone send me a talk page message once it’s done, okay?

You can do it since you have a Facebook account. All there is to it is just create the group and add names. (: June Days

ok i’ll create the #group :smiley: @JuneDays only you and some people from #wikihow are my #friend on #facebook so I’ll add you first and since you #are_the_admin you must have tons of other friends from @wikihow so you have to add them #ok :smiley:

Actually there is a wikihow page

I like the idea of a wikiHow group:slight_smile:I’ve thought of starting one actually but am still trying to figure out how it would work. As many people know, projects are very high-maintenance, which is why most of the time they fade away. It’s great that a group has already started, though! One thing I would ask, however, is that somewhere in the description it specifies that it is an “unofficial” group. The reason is that I don’t want people to think it is run by the wikiHaus. That is, I don’t have time to help maintain it at the moment, and unless someone steps up and takes full responsibility for the group, it might get overrun by spam, trolling, or other bad things. I don’t want people who stumble upon the group to think that those bad things represent wikiHow.

the group is already #created ,

There’s blogs? :o I didn’t notice. Could you link? c: And Akash, you really love those hashtags, doncha?:slight_smile:

@Confusionist yes , yes I do but i get lotta messages from @admins not to use it, i #dont_see_any_harm

it’s a very tiny bit annoying I guess…

It deters a flow of conversation – just like colors on talk pages to the point of annoyance. I’m sorry that it sounds blunt, but it has zero positive contributions to the message.

Not everything has to have a positive contribution to a message, it’s not an edit XD
