I’m not asking whether you believe in the sport of purebreds. I could get into a long debate (not an argument) on whether purebred sport is right or not. Anyways, what is your favorite breed? Maybe later I might make a Google form, but I’m too lazy right now.

Mine is the rough collie because of their loyalty and the compassion which they show me. I have one named Lyra Silvertongue, but she goes by Lyra.

Mine has to be the Newfoundland.

Mine is either Maltese or Shih Tzu. =) I love all animals equally, but you know… those are my favorites!

I am not a big fan of dogs but I love labradors and beagles, they are gentle and kind and won’t bark at random things!

I like sooo many!:stuck_out_tongue:Labs, beagles, Shih Tzu, Maltese, Newfies, they are all so cute!
I do like Coton de Tulear breed though!

@LeahLovesGod I know right?! Those are soo cute.

I used to have a beagle. Sad for it to die, but no more night howling.:stuck_out_tongue:

^ Aww. My condolences. My dog died in my bed. :0 Yep. It was a Shih Tzu and she was defected at birth. I loved her, and she slept on my bed when I was in school. Then, yeah. She was gone. I was like 10 at that time. :(

Maltese, Shih Tzu, German Shepher, Husky and Labradors.

Pug.

Huskies are awesome:smiley:Defensive animals…And they don’t really like to be a pet…They like defending more…

@Mano365 knows what she is talking about. Combine work and pet! that’s why I have a collie. I use to raise farm animals, so she herded them for me. I also like Australian Shepherds, as they herd well to, with a nice waterresistant coat.

Shiba Inus are adorable :3

I’ve always liked German shepherds or Miniature pinschers but now The Great Swiss Mountain Dog is my favorite

I know someone who owns a German Shepherd. He actually entered it into the Westminister Dog Show, but he didn’t place.

Ooh, oh well. Since you brought up dog shows, Im actually going to brag for a second haha. My dog who recently passed away, was the son of the award winning showdog Excalibur, known for being the top Rhodesian ridgeback showdog in the world and arguably the best large dog showdog in the world.:slight_smile:As much as I dislike breeding dogs, my dog was seriously the most loving and sweet animal I’ve ever known.

I can imagine so! That’s amazing, even I’ve heard of him! Lyra is best of any dog show she’s gone to, but she will never be Excalibur.

I grew up with xolo’s the mexican hairless in my great granfaters side and great danes and german sheperds on my grandfathers ranch.

Ah, I’m so happy to know somebody who knows of him! And Lyra is gorgeous from what I can see of her- What a beautiful lass! Although winning shows shows extreme prowess, its all about what the dog means to the owner and what you mean to her. From what you describe in this thread and others, you and Lyra have an unbreakable bond that is unique and can be matched by nobody.

Yep. That goes without showing. Thats not her, but what could be a twin to her. She looks just the same execpt for a white spleck on her ear. She will run with me, and she has actually done races with me (and beat me). She is trained, and I think the day she dies is the day I will learn what depression is (hopefully thats long off- Lyra, live longer than Bluey!!!)
