Please, someone, help? I got a “download this urgent update now” message from Firefox, so I did, and now my wikiHow editor’s toolbar extension is again no longer compatible. This is the add-on from http://www.wikihow.com/Use-the-wikiHow-Editor’s-Toolbar I can’t live without it! OK, that’s not true, but it makes my life closer to complete, my browser feels naked without it, it lights up my life, I cannot function normally unless that monkey face is shouting at me on a regular basis, etc. Help? Who gets to be the hero and save the day?

You too, eh? FF 5.0 doesn’t like the wikiHow toolbar…:frowning:and I miss that gizmo!

Still ignoring the pop-up reminders. The toolbar is the only thing not compatible on my side of things. Probably be hanging by a thread until my computer goes gung-ho on me before I decide to upgrade.

In Chrome the toolbar that Ilyism made is still working so you could think about switching to chrome when you edit wikiHow? It’s not that functional as in Firefox but you can see the patrolcount and if there are FA’s vandalized.

Yes, it’s still working. I’m using it right now in fact. Personally, I still like the functionality of the FF toolbar more, but at least this icon shows firstly, new talk messages, if none of that it shows the unpatrolled FAs and if none of those, it shows the regular patrolcount.

Or you could consider downgrading back to Firefox 4 until the issue is fixed.

Downgrading is such a pain…

I think its possible to use both Firefox 4 and 5 at the same time without downgrading. Not sure though, as I haven’t used Firefox in a while.

I hate firefox for everything except for Chatzilla.

Firefox addict here. I love my customized browser! I think I have Chrome installed, but I’ve never used it. I downgraded last time this happened and it was fine. May just have to do that again.

^ Attemped to upgrade to 5.0 last night – it’s the same, but refusal of the toolbar. Degraded back to 4.0.1 in a matter of minutes.

I just read the Mozilla site instructions for downgrading… They’re not supporting FF 4 anymore. Apparently, it’s got some security loopholes. Mozilla won’t put out any updates for it, and they don’t recommend returning to FF 4. The last maintained FF version is 3.6… they’re still supporting it and putting out updates for it.:frowning:

Boooooooooooo. Well, if it’s an upgrade from 3.6 to 4.0 and then an upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0, why support for a very old version instead of “moving ahead”? Bah. I like the 4.0 tab interface and it was a huge change from 3.6. Pfftt… guess I be going old school later tonight with 3.6 then.

Out of curiosity… Does illyism’s toolbar work with Firefox 5?

Nope. Even if you attempt to download and install manually, it refuses to.

Sorry about this. We will see if we can fix it. Every time Firefox upgrades this seems to happen to us. Hopefully we can get it back working soon!

Thanks Jack! I’d appreciate it if you could!

Firefox 5.0 looks just like 4.0, in my opinion.
