You might have heard about the Heartbleed Bug in the news and on the Internet - and since it’s a big deal of a bug, our engineers wanted to reassure everyone that we’re not vulnerable to this bug, and never have been. The bug is serious because it allowed anyone to steal internal web server secrets (such as passwords, encryption keys, etc). Thankfully, we have always used a version of openssl in nginx that doesn’t have the vulnerability. So while you might want to find out more about the bug for the other sites and services you use online, you can rest assured that this particular vulnerability isn’t an issue on wikiHow. Just wanted to keep ya’ll in the loop – and share a funny/painful-because-it’s-true comic on it with you:slight_smile:

Well, that’s great to hear. What about wikia?:slight_smile:I know the web-site aren’t affilated but just asking.

Thanks for letting us know. Will they let us know when the bug is fixed?

@Icicle990 : Not sure on Wikia - you’d have to ask them. I know there is a fix out now, so hopefully nobody’s information anywhere is compromised anymore (or won’t be for long, at least), as long as you change your passwords on other sites that were affected. But again, not an issue here - just a heads-up so that anyone worried about can rest assured:slight_smile: @Hailey-Girges : This was just an informational post - the bug is an issue on several other websites right now, but luckily not an issue here on wikiHow, so we wanted to let you know not to worry. There’s nothing to fix on this one here:slight_smile:

Thanks for the information. So relieved it’s not an issue on wikiHow!

Thanks for letting us know, Anna!

I’ll change my password just in case. I have already changed my password:slight_smile:BTW thank goodness it is not on wikihow!

@Anna I’m wondering if you’re planning to introduce two factor verification anytime in the next few years?
