wikiBirthday… That’s such a stupid concept. Why can’t we just celebrate their normal birthdays.
The the recognition of a wikiBirthday is more appropriate in a community-driven environment than a date whose relevance is important to a very few (like is the birthday or wedding anniversary of an individual). Plus, for privacy reasons, many wikiHowians choose not to divulge their personal birthday online or might use a fictitious one. Aside from that, a wikiBirthday gives another important day to be thankful for throughout the year, aside from your personal birthday which is likely remembered in multiple ways, multiple times. I fail to see the point of adding to _that mix._Also, @Savas_P
, if you have such a strong opinion, perhaps it would be better to express it in a separate thread, rather than to rain upon the parade. I, for one, am glad that each of the honorees is a part of the community. Each is awesome in his own way. So, thank you for expressing your opinion. It gave me a chance to entrench my wikiBirthday wishes for @Byankno1
and @Connor-Fleming
.

@Alabaster
thank you a lot for your insight. I think it important to recognise their contributions, but I still think wikiBirthday is a stupid name for it. Would you call a wedding anniversary a weddingBirthday?
@Savas_P
- I see what you are getting at.
What you really meant was that wikiBirthday is a poor choice of a name for the anniversary of joining wikiHow. I just feel that you aired the issue with inappropriate words in an inappropriate thread.
Yeah, it’s not stupid
It’s a way to praise a user for spending a year or years with wikiHow. What’s wrong with the name? It goes well…
Happy wikiBirthdays to you both!
Happy wikiBirthday to Connor and Chris!
