Recently, another editor contacted me to have me verify an article. However, although I’m a techie, I also don’t want to destroy my computer with stuff I wouldn’t need or want to use myself. Although they said that no Linux is needed, I’m not trusting. I don’t want or need Linux (or anything similar). The title says it’s “for” Linux, but the rest of the title says it’s for Windows. Can someone with some advanced knowledge of Windows help me verify the steps in  https://www.wikihow.com/Enable-the-Windows-Subsystem-for-Linux for both myself and @Batreeq ? Thank you.

For testing articles without allowing the potential to destroy your computer to arise, I recommend trying out a Virtual Machine. A computer within your computer; completely separate from any important things.

This will complicate matters some on that front. I don’t have the files necessary to produce the operating systems that are stated in the article and as I’ve ended up asking in the path, these types of files cost money that I don’t have much of as well.

@Byankno1 - They’re free. Windows 10 can be used without activation, you just can’t personalize it (e.g. set an accent color).  microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Unfortunately, I’m using 32-bit Windows, so the steps won’t work for me.

When I open that link you provided @Batreeq , the link said that the page isn’t a working page anymore.
