I have an awesome idea for a team and I need help to create the page and templates, etc.
I want to create a team to improve/edit pet-related articles, and I want to call it “The Pet Project”.
Who out there can help me with this?

I’d love to help!

I had a similar question before, on a stub team. @EpcotMagic gave me some good advice and a link to SOS. I’ll leave you a link to help!

Can I use a picture off pixabay for the page picture?
And I was wondering if you could use the design from the page for creating templates? We need the UIB, the Invite, the Nominate article, the Improved by, the Member of the Month award, and the Welcome to the Team.
I figured you were more experienced at making templates so one or both of you could create them.

I don’t know, perhaps consult with an admin about the picture bit.

I’ll certainly try my hand it.

Here goes…

Edit: I have tried making a template, it did not work. So I left a message for @Eric and he told me when our team starts to create and improve articles, then we can start making templates.

It went dreadful…

Is it supposed to say: You have been invited to join the Pet Project!
?
Maybe I could try fixing it…

the text showed up… Now what?

Hi everyone! The current link for the invite template is https://www.wikihow.com/Template:PetProjectInvite . Here’s an update (and summary) on the whole situation:

When the template was created, it was done so in the wikiHow mainspace, and therefore treated as a regular article. I discovered the original page ( https://www.wikihow.com/Template ) in the NAB tool and moved it to the new title, in essence “deleting” the previous page. I’ve since demoted the page via NAB to flush it out of the queue, so no worries. As the content is now in a template namespace, it should work as intended: you can test it out with {{PetProjectInvite}}.

For future reference, when you see wikiHow links with nothing but the unique page title after “.com/”, that page is within the site’s “mainspace”. Every single article resides within the mainspace. When there is another term after “.com”, that page isn’t a regular article. For example, any page created with “.com/User:xxxx/xxxx” is within that particular userspace and can serve as a “personal page”. Templates are a similar case: any page created with “.com/Template:xxx” is automatically treated as a template by the site and can be called upon using the magical curly brackets {{}} of all MediaWiki. Thus, when creating templates, make sure to verify that the link looks something like “ https://www.wikihow.com/Template:TEMPLATENAME ” before publishing.

If you guys would like me to change the title/name of the template from “PetProjectInvite” to something else, feel free to reach out! The current name is just a placeholder I made for the move.
