I didn’t insert my email so will I get a message on my talk page or something.I made sure all five of my articles suited the wiki writers guide. They were published over a month ago and I still don’t have a reply. How long will this take?? Thanks for the help!

Hello Crazy,

You have started some very helpful articles. I had a look at all of them.

When your articles are published, you will be notified on your talk page.

In the meantime, you may try editing your articles as per suggested by the editors.

For those that are marked to be merged, it means there already exists a similar article. You may refer to this to merge your article’s helpful content to the articles. Refer to this: http://www.wikihow.com/Merge-a-wikiHow-Article

For the one marked for formatting, you may refer to this : http://www.wikihow.com/Format-a-wikiHow-Article
You may ask the editors on here for help from time to time.

Thanks.

Thanks for the help

my only problem is for the formatting one I did that along with the guide and it still says its wrong and i have quadruple checked it(4 times).

^ Hi CrazyCat! If you already have published it, can you give the link to the article? I might be able to fix it!

^It must be this one: http://www.wikihow.com/Work-Out-What-Gymnastics-Level-You-Are-(Floor-Only)

@CrazyCat007 - I know it is difficult getting the hang of formatting when you first start on wikiHow. I looked at the article linked in the above comment  and will tell you what I see and also provide you the resources within wikiHow to bring the article up to current wikiHow quality standards.

  • The article has been looked at by a booster and the booster demoted this article, meaning that there were too many issues for the booster to fix. Rather than spend a significant amount of time doing so, the booster put the onus on you to fix the issues. Don’t despair. You can fix all the issues through a three-step approach:

    • I will identify the problems and give you resources which will provide you the knowledge to fix the problems.
    • You will need to read the articles, work to understand them, and ask questions of the Help Team when you are unclear about anything.
    • You will need to fix the issues and let a booster or administrator know that you have done so.
  • In the introduction, you use personal reference. This will have to be removed. To understand personal reference, please read How to Avoid Using Personal Reference on wikiHow .

  • You will have to eliminate all but one of those multiple question marks. Why would you use so many??? Remember, wikiHow is a trusted source which uses standard English. It would be good to read and to thoroughly understand the wikiHow style guide and it would be excellent to follow it.

  • There should be one and only one space between each and every sentence. There are two sentences which are side-by-side in the introduction. This does not look professional. It should be fixed in all cases.

  • ALL CAPS are frowned upon. THEY SHOULD NEVER BE USED FOR EMPHASIS. Instead, a judicious use of embolden will do.

  • “Please note this is  girls ONLY as their levels are different to boys.” is confusing. It reads better as:

    •  “Note: This guide is for girls. Boy’s gymnastic levels require mastery of completely different skills and elements.”
    •  It is good practice to convey the concepts in an article as clearly and concisely as possible.
  • As explained in the formatting guide, each step should start with an actionable verb. Please read and understand How to Format a wikiHow Article  and How to Begin Each wikiHow Article with a Verb .

  • All of the steps in an article, performed in order, must ensure  that anyone who follows the steps with reasonable diligence will achieve the end result promised by the title. In this case, the reader/doer should be able to “Work Out What Gymnastic Level You Are (Floor Only)” using the article only. That is, all the tools and descriptions needed to complete the task should be included in the article so that no prior knowledge and no outside knowledge is required. In this case, none of the moves are described and, unless you already know all about each particular move, the guide is not very helpful.

  • In the body of the article, no steps seem to be in proper format or actionable. I think that a big rework of information in the article and its organization is required before a booster would promote the article. So, as to how long it will take for the article to be fully viewable, that is up to you.

Good luck!

Exactly what @Alabaster said - wikiHow is a community of volunteers, and we love to help everyone make their article as great as it can be. All articles go through a quality review tool, New Article Boost, where experienced editors review and edit the article. That said, we can’t do that so well without the creator’s help. Often, the article needs more detailed, high quality content and we can’t provide that without spending significant time researching the topic. If the author provides a lot of material that just happens to not be formatted properly, we can work with it - but if it’s barebones it’ll take a lot more work to get it to a fully published state.

Maybe also some links would help too, like for when you do an arial you link to Do an Arial.
