When talk pages are fully protected from creation, it is still possible to create them by posting in the comment box and clicking “Post”.

That may be the case, but since we rarely use create protection in general and even more rarely use it on talk pages, I wouldn’t really worry about it. I haven’t investigated this one, because it’s likely not something we’d change either way. I wouldn’t bother going on bug hunts just for the sake of it, when they’re not issues that are, in regular use, having a significant impact on readers or editors. It’s not really worth your time and energy to hunt out bugs that don’t impact people, and honestly it’s not a great use of my time responding to them or our engineers’ time investigating them. I know we’ve talked about this in the past, and I do appreciate that you like experimenting with the software! But do please consider whether a bug is actually having a real, negative impact on people before you spend too much of your energy reporting it. I fear that fixating on small issues that don’t really create a problem or merit fixing is only going to frustrate you.

@Anna can you close this thread… I get your point.  I think you are saying creation protection is only a means of last resort when the article is repeatedly recreated.  I could be wrong, though, and I see why it would be such a rarity.

@UpsandDowns1234 , what Anna was explaining is that there would never be an instance when we would need to create-protect a talk page, so it doesn’t make sense to try to dig up bugs related to that process since it wouldn’t be worth anyone’s time to troubleshoot any further. Thanks!
