Ever since I discovered the forums, it takes, like, 30 seconds to get into my user page (by clicking on the Hasbeen400 button at the top) just so I can reset the notification count. I don’t know if it’s the Vanilla forums or wikiHow itself or if it’s just me, but I would really like this to be fixed sometime.

No. It’s not just you. I’ve been having a problem with it too, but it’s not bothering me enough to badger with writing up a bug report for it. Thanks for writing one up. It might very well be with Vanilla’s end of things (but I could be wrong).

Yeah, this is a bummer, I know:confused:– in my experience it does load, but it takes a while. I’ve filed a bug report for it, so hopefully one of our engineers can investigate whether we have any options for speeding it up. Like Byankno1 said, it could be a Vanilla thing, but I’m not sure. I did file the bug, but bugs on our main site and with editing do take more priority over forums, so hang in there, and hopefully it can be looked at in the long run!

I’ve experienced the same thing, too. Sometimes, the forums will even completely go down for a minute or two.

I’ve come across that same issue here too. Hopefully it will be looked into at some point, but not a huge deal right now IMO. Thanks @Anna for filing a bug report on it:slight_smile:

I’ve had this issue ever since I started participating in the forums.

Same here.:confused:I wrote a bug report on here stating the same problem, but we cant really do anything about it. It can take me over 2 minutes to get my notifications to pop up.

Yup, same here. All though, isn’t really a big problem

Same here

It’s surprisingly fast on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

It doessound to me something we would have to wait on Vanilla for a fix on. If you have an account on Vanilla’s site, you can contact them easily and see if they will be able to fix it. It may be a low priority thing to them too.

As noted previously, we just have an old version of Vanilla that uses a lot of table joins and also MyISAM engine instead of InnoDB that locks the whole table instead of individual rows. They’ve probably fixed it in a newer version of Vanilla, but we have an old version so we don’t know right now. It’ll be upgraded in the future, though.

2.1.6 is the latest version available, based on me looking at Vanilla’s website.
