A few minutes ago we rolled out a major change to combat user page spam. As soon as the cache clears, user pages of “non legit” wikiHow users will not show up to logged out users or search engines. Thus we will essentially have done a mass deletion of zillions of user pages from non-core community members. All those user pages will still exist and be visible to logged in users, but they will be invisible to Google and anonymous readers. By removing these pages from search engines and logged out viewing, we are really making spamming here unattractive.:slight_smile:Because spammers are stupid, they will continue to spam us. But we can be happy that nobody, other than the small group of logged in wikiHowians reading our logs and RC patrol, will see those pages. Thus we don’t need to spend our precious volunteer time manually deleting these pages. Since this is a major change we may have some serious bugs. If you see anything please report it to @Krystle or write about it here.

I gotta say Jack… That’s AWESOME!!! thanks!

I must admit, making this change was one of the more pleasurable changes the wikiHaus has done in a while:slight_smile:

Where’s that “Like” button?

Between this ‘major change’ and this quote above I think my day has definitively been made.
