Can someone please explain everything to do with making links?

Well. If you are talking about making them, for an inter-wiki link you just place two of the open brackets ( [[) and type the EXACT name of the page you want to link to, not including “How to” and then place to closing brackets (]] ). You can also place alternate text for them, by placing a vertical bar character after the link, and typing the alternate text. For an external link, place one opening bracket ( [) and then type the URL, then place a closing bracket (] ). To place alternate text in an external link. Place a space after the URL, then type your alternate text. So, an inter-wiki link will look like [[Some-Page|Some Alternate Text]], and an external link will look like [ example.com Example site]. My whole explaination might not be that clear, if so, sorry. Feel free to send me a PM on my talkpage here: www.wikihow.com/User_talk:KernelPone . Hope this helps.

If you are asking about how get the link to a particular webpage or website: Links are basically URLs; the address of a website. http://www.wikihow.com is the link to wikiHow. To get such links, you would have to identify the address bar in your browser. It is usually on the top of any browser and would usually start like this: http:// . Copy this wholepiece of text. This piece of text that you copied, is the link to that page. Paste it where ever you want. Gaurang

thanks!
