The mobile redesign is now ready for testing. To help keep tabs on your feedback, we’ve set up a Google form. Please fill it out as completely as you are able. We’re likely to miss your bugs if they are posted elsewhere, so even if you’ve mentioned a glitch to someone already, please add it here as well. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1twVECxrWCXZXIUShGXoS9YcPDbJzYY0Sc7AWNs5XZnw/viewform

Good one, Jaob
Please keep 'em coming! With so many mobile devices out there, there are many we weren’t able to test before launch.

I had Anna file one for me regarding my user page. We (Anna and Jack too) aren’t sure what the cause it but the timing with the mobile update just seems to fit in. I’ll see if I find anything else though.
on an older phone: LG45C Sometimes the “Write an Article” balloon pops up (Dolphin Mobile Browser) and sometimes it doesn’t (stock browser). The popup covers the article text and you can’t close it with the “X” either - and it floats over the text. I can see a menu button on the top left when I look at with my home 'puter PC, but I can’t see it on the mobile view from my phone. I also would like to see an easier log in access. I have my phone’s bookmarked but it goes to the full site. We need a “Full Site” link at the bottom as there was before, and I don’t think you can edit from the mobile version, although it’s cumbersome and more difficult to do anyway. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for your efforts though. I’ll keep watching for stuff and report it for ya.

This isn’t a bug at all but just saw that my own created user page does not show up on the mobile user page. However, that is not the issue; the issue is that on my talk page (again, in mobile view) lets my control panel template show up which on it self is no big deal. The only issue with this is that things such as contribs etc. will linn to the desktop view automatically. Again, not a bug it just may confuse a mobile user
If I search from the mobile page then click a link to an article it goes to the full website desktop view. This seems to be some sort of scripting error or deficiency.

Hey Robbie, There was a bug surrounding this early on after the launch that the engineers worked to fix – can you try clearing your cookies/cache and then accessing the page again? It should hopefully be fixed after you do that – but it’s possible that there’s an unrelated issue, of course. If so, after you clear your history/cache/cookies, can you let me know what phone and OS/browser you’re using, and where exactly you’re searching from (which of the search fields)? That’d be really helpful - thanks!
Sorry it took me so long to get back Anna. I guess I missed the notification of your reply or something, somehow. Send an email to robbieleeactor@gmail.com
when this thread is updated. I’m working up an article with info about editing with a phone, and want to be accurate about known mobile issues for the reader to be aware of and report them here. (I’m not worried about compromising that email address online - I have a great spam filter called the “Delete” key and “Report Spam” (LMAO) and it can’t get infected because I only download attachments from trusted sources.) I clear cookies and cache every time I close it by default. My Android info is this: Model number: LGL45C Android version: 2.3.4 Baseband version: LGL45C_6170 Kernel version: 2.6.35.7 lge@android-build #4
+++++++++++++ Build number: GRJ22 Software version: LGL45CT2 +++++++++++++ I run Dolphin for Android version 11.2.3 and it’s better than the stock which I never use. The Dolphin was just uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of days ago now with this brand new version I mentioned. ONGOING ISSUES as of 9-29-2014 at 11:27 PM PDST There’s still no way to login with the new mobile design and if there are ANY templates on it (like inuse or copyedit), they do not appear now at all, with no indication it is inuse (tags don’t show) so you still have no real way of knowing what “issues” the article may have! A simple link to login to the full site (without the floating login like at https://ssl.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&type=login
would work great on the Mobile site, then have it rervert back to the Mobile site after logging in. When you click sources and citations it’s a really huge delay then the links are there, but “Thank the authors” has no link, though you do see the Author’s names, in text only, no links. On the section: Did this article help you? If you try to say “Yes” (likely the same for no) and type the reason in the box, it reloads or something, jumps all over the place, and is impossible to type anything in it. It may or may not be in the works, but I think it would be nice if you could create an account and login, create articles, edit articles, watch articles and save drafts, etc to your personal profile so that when you get on your 'puter at home you can see what you did. (It sounds like a lot to ask, in light of the issues I’m reporting now! :_) Right now it’s only functionality seems to mainly be to just view articles and the search engine interface seems to have a lot to be desired. It could be improved. The floating search bar gets in the way. A link to a full page with the custom Google Search box on top works the best. Just a link to that would solve that problem. Right now I still use the full site on my mobile device with Dolphin Browser. and get by, but it’s just difficult to post to talk and discussion pages. I don’t use it to try to edit most of the time because it’s so problematic, using the full site. I want to report issues with the APP too. Can you direct me to the right Forum for that? I have an idea on how I might be able to help with them.

Hey Robbie – the mobile site is definitely simpler than the full desktop site, and probably always will be. Partly, there are just more limitations and hurdles to developing in that small screen and across all kinds of devices and browsers
That being said, several of the actions you mention, like logging in and editing, you can definitely do from mobile, so let me send you some more info about how. Rather than clutter up Village Pump with any back and forth when this is already a pretty old thread, I’m going to close this, and send you a talk instead. Look out for that - thanks!
