uhh drop some ideas below <3
heres some:
bones
girl interupted
greys anatomy
Hetalia and My Ordinary Life are some of my favorite animes. I’m re-watching both of them.
Hetalia is a bit… mature… though.
For a minor to call something mature… Konosuba. Case Closed Eromanga Sensei (is it in anime form yet?)
More things to watch:
Tiger King
Outer Banks
Ozark
The Mandalorian (I’m going to watch soon)
The Challenge
PEPPA PIG (no joke)
Zodi
7
Studio Ghibli movies, all of them (my personal favourite is Howl’s Moving Castle). Perfect way to distract from the real world.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered (my favorite show)
God’s Not Dead (just the first one- the others aren’t so great)
Narnia (all. of. them.)
Beyond the Mask
The Andy Griffith Show
Mr Rogers Neighborhood
How To Train Your Dragon (little known fact: I like the HTTYD movies more than Narnia)
These aren’t exactly movies or TV shows/animes per se, but here’s some fiction novels I enjoy:
One of us is Lying by Karen M. McManus (Mystery, Crime)
In Some Other Life by Jessica Brody (Science Fiction, Romance)
The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody (Romance, Grief)
Simon vs. the Homo-Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (LGBTQ+, Romance)
The Summer I Turned Pretty (Trilogy) by Jenny Han (Romance)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (Historical Fiction)
Bloom by Kevin Panetta (LGBTQ+, Romance, Graphic Novel)
i know most of these are romance
Okay, I reviewed my viewing history and I have a list of awesome shows. This is based on my viewing preferences, and I like shows that are:
- Sweet & heartfelt
- Optimistic overall
- Not too scary or sexy (I don’t do well with that)
- LGBTQ-friendly
If you like shows like that and you have Netflix, then you’re in luck!
Suitable for almost all ages
- The Dragon Prince: heartfelt and dramatic fantasy adventure about trying to restore peace and build understanding
- Kipo: sweet post-apocalyptic friendship story, gay character
- She-Ra: poignant friendship story about found family, courage, and overcoming childhood abuse, plus queer subtext and an episode in which you meet a main character’s two dads
- 3 Below: silly alien show that’s sometimes childish with a few dark themes
Suitable for teens
- Jane the Virgin: dramatic and heartfelt story of an accidental pregnancy with themes of love, family, and intrigue
- One Day At a Time: fun and thoughtful family drama with a major lesbian character, nonbinary character introduced later
- The Good Place: clever and sweet story with a lot of humor and twists
- Degrassi Next Class: dramatic and heartfelt story dealing with a number of teen issues, includes two boys dating
- The Fosters: sweet and breathtaking teen drama about adoptive family with two moms
- Charmed (original): sister story about powerful witches dealing with love, work, and responsibility
- Supergirl: optimistic story about hope and protecting others, includes major lesbian character (season 2 forward) and trans character (season 4? forward). Season 4 does get very real about fascism and that’s kinda scary
- The Flash: a lot like Supergirl, though it needs more lesbians
- Legends of Tomorrow: action friendship story about time travel misadventures, later seasons involve two major female characters dating and I totally called it
- Madam Secretary: political drama about solving crises, a few LGBTQ+ characters though it’s rarely mentioned
Only if you can handle it (the limits of what I can watch)
- The Umbrella Academy: Dramatic and fascinating but also violent and scary
- Crazy Ex Girlfriend: Sweet, funny, and musical but also very honest about sex (shows more than I’m comfortable with) and themes of suicide
- Charmed (reboot): Dramatic sister story about magic and feminism, gets pretty scary
The Avengers / Star Wars / Star Trek
Oh, yes, Star Trek! All the shows (except Discovery and Picard) are on Netflix!
YOU SHOULD WATCH THE MOVIE
Everyday
AND
the Commuter
AND
idk marvel movies but on like full volume just to lose ur hearing
Hey @MissLunaRose
- I really enjoyed The Good Place - you’re the only other person I know who’s watched it! I loved how they referenced lots of current pop culture, even another favourite of mine got a mention, Downton Abbey.
I would recommend Downton Abbey the series and film - historically accurate, has gay character, is funny, poignant, dramatic, engaging - it’s one of my go-tos to relax with, like a comfort food for my eyes/brain!
Interstellar is an amazing movie, in my opinion - I love the soundtrack too. The Martian and Contact are other sci-fi films I reccommend.
Big, The Money Pit and Captain Phillips are some good films all stariing Tom Hanks - sorry, I don’t know if they are PG rated, I think so.
The Marvel movies are good, but I legit fell asleep during Endgame. Stick with Age of Ultron, it’s easily the best one.
Suitable for all ages:
The Angry Birds Movies 1 and 2
Any disney or pixar movie
HTTYD
Stargirl (Disney+ only)
Bridge to Terabithia
SpongeBob Squarepants (Hey I said this was for all ages and I still watch this occasionally)
Modern Family (watch this , it’s SO good)
Not necessarily suitable for all ages:
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Miss Americana [its a really good documentary] (Netflix only)
Mean Girls
Instant Family (maybe the most um… mature movie here but one of the best)
American Housewife
The Sandlot
I legit love all of these, and I hope you guys like em too.
The Mandalorian
The Queens Gamble
The other cops
I recommend Soul, Mandalorian.
