For those who watched the state of the wikipresentation , you will know we have been working on a “Welcome Wagon” tool that will be opened up to a limited number of our community soon. Like New Article Booster and Admin, this will be a role that you need to apply for. More details to follow from @Krystle
coming up! In the meantime, I’d like to have folks offer feedback on the various badge ideas we could use to put on user pages of people who gain access to the Welcome Wagon tool. Look on the far right for the welcomer badge: Concept 1:
Concept 2:Concept 3:Conepet 4:Thoughts?

Concept 2, lol Nah, I can go for 1… 3 and 4 doesn’t make any sense unless you know the actual meaning behind “Welcome Wagon”.

I like concept 2 & 3, but I think 2 would be most practical because it’s less literal on the word ‘wagon’

Favorite? #2
. Comments: #1
- what do squirrels have to do with wikiHow? or even with welcoming? #3
and 4 - I get that it’s supposed to relate to a welcome wagon? but that’s kinda… um… even before MY time! I don’t know how many people younger than I would even “get” the reference. So… #2
… by far the most logical of the 4.
Wow. Surprised so many people like concept 2. That was my least favorite of the bunch by far! The name tag somehow feels a bit cheesy to me.
It’s not the sort of thing I would be too proud to have on my user page. I could be happy with 1, 3, or 4.

Can you alter the font that says “Hello”, perhaps? Something a bit more classy yet still readable?
FYI on the historical reference: The old Welcome Wagon as seen in #4
is a wagon that would go to greet people in the 1800s migrating west in the US. The covered wagon would go to travelers to welcome people with water and food.
I’d go with 2. I think the name tag seems more “universally recognized”, if that makes any sense LOL.

I like the ox in it and all, and also the historical aspect of it. However, it doesn’t quite fit with the rest of wikiHow. We’re a how-to site, not a history wiki or something. *shrugs*

I get the reasoning behind #3
and #4
, and I think they’re a good ideas, but I still prefer #2
. Maybe it has to do with the fact I have worked in customer service, greeting people all throughout the day, and had to wear a name tag similar to that

I love no. 1 and that’s all. I actually don’t really like any. 0.0
To be honest, I really like #1
and #2
. 3 and 4 seem kind of like we’re pilgrims (just with the wagon and horse/wheel). The nametag seems friendly and welcoming. Just MHO. June Days
4 and 2 because 4 is showing New beginnings seeing New people welcoming them. And history.
