Hi guys! I was just wondering if there could be ways we could spice up the home page on WikiHow so that we can get more users contributing. If this was so, then recent articles such as the [[Fake a Migraine]] & [[Be More Attractive to Men]] bust-ups could be helped with more people chipping in. It could also take down the NAB stats mentioned in the New Article Hatchery/Incubator plan meaning we wouldn’t have to alter stuff like that also. It is just a basic idea that probably isn’t that good but I thought I might as well put it out there. Thanks for reading!

I’m not sure that I understand what you’re trying to say?

I’m severely confused as to what connection controversial articles and NAB stats have to do with the main page.
Basically, what I am saying is that with an advertisement for more users contributing on the main page we can get more users who can become NAB’s.
That might defeat the purpose of readers taking the initiative to join and edit. The advertisement might be pushy or annoying and attract the wrong kind of attention. Hypothetically, if a gaggle of new users join up, then they’ll have to gain at least 3 months’ experience, if not more, to be allowed to take the NAB test. But I see what you’re getting at.
We sort of have something like that. The homepage says “We’re trying to help everyone on the planet learn how to do anything. Join us.”
Yeah, I guess but if they do well in the upcoming months they can become boosters in the future is what I am trying to say.
Recently I saw the language column on the main page. I don’t know if it was there already.
Thanks for the idea Hannah! I love it
As WE14 mentioned though, we already have text on the home page that encourages new users to chip in. I would have suggested an invitation to prepare for the NAB test (especially since we need more boosters!), but it might come off as pushy for the reasons mentioned above.
