Perhaps this is because I don’t understand how part of the NFD tool works, but this is something I have consistently seen. If I vote for deletion, and @Luigia2453 has already voted for deletion, it will be deleted ( https://lh5.ggpht.com/IGhY9EUpduXYmg504KUC6n1ZxwyJKGzqXUTkkulALtErjNNmRE1VVN4fu6gfYxk7i6PM5A=s138 ) But if @Byankno1 AND Luigia2453 have BOTH already voted for deletion, it still says it is waiting for a deciding vote. Hey Hibou! I think this is down to different kinds of voters – excuse my copypasta from the NFD Guardian article, but it sums it up better than I could:slight_smile:“Realize it takes at least one admin vote to delete the article, but three booster votes or one booster and one admin will remove the tag— that is, if there are no votes for deletion.” and “Note that an admin vote is not required for the NFD tag to be removed. It is only required with deletion. If at least three boosters (that are not admins) vote for the article to be kept, the NFD tag is removed.” Do you think that explains it, or is there a lingering issue beyond that? Let me know if you’re still not sure and I can dig further, but with Lugia being an admin and Byankno1 being a booster, I think that covers it, hopefully. Thanks for checking!

I still don’t understand. From what you’ve said, it seems like Lugia (admin) plus Byankno1 (booster) should delete the article without another booster (like myself) even needing to see it- especially when some articles that only have Lugia’s vote are deleted once I vote for deletion also.

I also see things like this, which don’t look like they should have happened. https://lh6.ggpht.com/wGmv-3TjlPoENHD7tJxEpy6i3Fal0TW5Ci7G4o59E0W8zN-ioXIe-Y12rB2wsESGylsu0g=s170 (Byankno1, WritingEnthusiast14, Lugia2453 voted to delete. There have been no votes to keep.)

(which, by the way, still said “waiting for deciding vote” when I voted for deletion.) https://lh6.ggpht.com/IkXSPUaR9wbgXLSTTSOYYpkqc7WTaooAKI9QQc1YBSe1BlImF8btEi8RnuJeJjqwvgxsDQ=s129

@Hibou8 - It might come down to some of @Lugia2453 ’s votes being cast as a booster rather than as a trial admin. There might not be any good way for you to know which type of vote was cast by someone who recently became an admin or was recently granted trial adminship. @Anna or another admin might have access to the timing of individual NFD Guardian votes, but, from what I have seen in NFD Guardian, I trust the accounting by the software.

Thanks for more examples, @Hibou - I reckon @Alabaster hit the nail on the head here. Here’s an example, where Lugia voted back in October, prior to his trial adminship (which started Nov 20): http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=&user=&page=Invite-an-Acquaintance-to-a-Party&year=&month=-1&tagfilter=&hide_patrol_log=1 (3 booster votes, but no admin yet) Same goes for this one: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=&user=&page=Create-a-Classic-Makeup-Look&year=&month=-1&tagfilter=&hide_patrol_log=1 (4 Booster votes, but no admin yet) Sorry not to delve into the details the first time around - that’s me, moving too quickly! And thanks for catching the pertinent factor there, Ron:slight_smile:I had to dig up some old threads to find the full voting rules, but here’s the info I could find on the specifics, if you’re interested: *Three delete points deletes an article *Two keep points keeps an article *Any admin vote counts for two points (either delete or keep) *Any non admin vote counts for one point only *At least one admin must participate vote in any action that ends in deletion *Normally it takes 3 points to delete (and one vote must be admin), but if there is even a single vote to keep, it raises the requirement for deletion up to 6 points.

I understand! I didn’t realize Lugia was such a new admin! Congrats, Lugia!

I misunderstood the intent of @Anna ’s answer. Sorry.
