Hello! I noticed that rollbacks are counted as contributions, but regular patrolling (marking something as patrolled) doesn’t count as a contribution. Is this intentional or is this a bug?

In a way it is controlled as a contribution - in that it has it’s own “log” of activity. You can find yours listed here

I feel like the reason rolling back an edit is a contribution is because it makes an edit to an article, while marking an edit as patrolled isn’t you directly making an edit to an article. However, I do agree with you.

I believe it’s actually deliberately not counted as a “contribution” because it can lead to editcountitis, or when people start getting obsessed with the number of edits they’re making. We don’t want people to try and rack up their contributions by making a bunch of patrols, because then they may not pay attention to quality and patrol bad edits. Separating patrols from edits to an article is fine.
