I’m using a Windows 10 PC. I’m using Brave as my browser now but the issue’s happening with Chrome too. In the Community Dashboard, in the Welcome Wagon, it shows that there are still more people to welcome. Like this:final 1

But when I click on Start, it shows ‘Nothing more to do for now’. Like this:

The same kind of problem is occurring with RCP too. It shows there are edits to patrol but when I click on Start, it shows the sunflower image and that’s it.

It’s also happening with all other tools in the Community Dashboard. Why exactly is the issue and how can it be resolved? I’m facing the issue since the begining of when I’ves started contributing. Is anyone else facing this issue? Or is this normal and not an issue at all?

Have you hit “Skip” on any of the tools? If you use the Skip option in a tool, you usually won’t get that same user/page in the queue again, so the tool might tell you it’s empty even if it’s technically not:slight_smile:

In RCP I quite a few times do “Skip” but in the Welcome Wagon and most other tools, I’m mostly sure what to do and don’t skip any. Also, even if I skip in RCP, I most of the time get the same user/ talk page 3-4 times and need to click skip many times.

The repeats in RCP are a known bug - it’s a pretty finicky tool. But I checked Welcome Wagon on Chrome and while I can’t investigate in-depth right now, it’s listed as having 16 users in the tool and I got at least one in the queue. Is it possible you might have skipped some users a few days ago and just don’t remember?

(I’ll also ping @JayneG to weigh in, since I’m not sure if there’s any known bugs or database issues with the Dashboard right now.)

No, I’m sure I haven’t skipped anything in the Welcome Wagon in at least the past week. Sometimes it suddenly gets down to 3 (only 3 not any other number). Then, as soon as I welcome one user, it goes back to 16 or so. Then everything again…

The users in Welcome Wagon stay there until at least 2 people have sent a message to them, so the number in there isn’t necessarily how many youhave left to do, but actually how many total there are in there for all Welcomers! This can be a little confusing, but if you see the “Nothing more to do for now” message, then you’re all good - it’s just waiting on others:slight_smile:

Thank you for letting me know! That solves the problem with the Welcome Wagon but what’s up with RCP and the others?

As Alex mentioned, the repeats are a known issue, but it also sounds likely that there weren’t any RCP edits left for you to do - looking in the traditional list, it’s very low at the moment (I see 3 edits to patrol), so you might have caught them all up other than things you might not have been able to patrol (ie your own edits or reverts etc)

The number shown on the dashboard isn’t always 100% correct - there is a lag, so that may be why it looks like there are more.

I know I can’t patrol my own edits but I was thinking the numbers are always correct as to what needs to be done (me or anyone else). Thanks for letting me know @JayneG ! Your answer is helpful!:grinning:

But I’m still wondering how the Welcome Wagon number suddenly gets down to 3. I do understand that it’s probably because there’s sometimes a lag. But why only 3? Nothing else?

Based on what I’ve seen, the numbers sometimes are a bit in accurate. I’m assuming that there are a lot of factors behind this (as Jayne and Alex stated), and it’s quite common for the numbers to jump pretty drastically.

If you’re having trouble with RCP, try traditional patrolling. That might be useful if something’s wrong with the tool:slight_smile:

No, I’m not having much trouble besides the fact that I need to ‘Skip’ 3-4. I’ll try traditional patrolling…:grinning:
