Exams. Why do they have to exist?

Homework. I would literally love school if not for homework. I think that it causes more stress than anything else, to be honest.

Eh… not so sure bout that. Where would you be? I’d personally prefer less of it, not not at all.

Originally, homework was just the schoolwork kids didn’t get done during the school day, so often very little to none. It’s only recently that homework has been regularly assigned and in ridiculously copious amounts. Maybe some would be somewhat beneficial, but I hardly deem it necessary, and from what I’ve gathered, homework often deters students from enjoying that class, as it induces them with high levels of stress, which they come to associate with that class. Now, teachers rarely assign more than two hours of homework for their class which, despite being slightly irritating, would be plausibly doable. The trick is when you have five or more classes that decide to assign two hours of homework each, coming out to ten hours. When you add that to the eight hours you spend in school, you get eighteen hours. Now, the average human is supposed to get at least eight hours of sleep, but studies show that people between the ages of twelve and twenty-one ought to get at least ten hours of sleep, which comes out to a total of twenty-eight hours. Since there are only twenty-four hours in a day, this already poses a four-hour problem, even if you don’t do extra things like breakfast, dinner, showering, extracurricular activities, etc. Tl;dr, the combined effects of stress, sleep deprivation, malnourishment, and lack of relaxation, excessive amounts of homework have been known to actually cause long-term depression, stretching well into adulthood.

I would be surely a fool if I say that I like doing studies.

uh, sorta get it.

^Yeah, sorry about that. I had a lot to say on the topic (No kidding) and was feeling really weighed down by it all. Thanks for letting me vent!

Naw it’s ok:stuck_out_tongue:

I just like digits (2334) and less of (two three three four). It confuses me a lot:stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t like Maths (exams rock!)

^I’m in an advanced maths class, and so for some reason everyone assumes I love maths. The teacher is awesome, I’m not going to deny that, but I still hate the class. Just because I’m good at something doesn’t mean I derive pleasure from it.

hey! I see most of you don’t like math and if you don’t like math your with me!

Sounds like the issue is more of your teachers assigning homework without the cooperation of their peers. Homework creates a classroom dynamic that helps youth develop important qualities for the future, as well as get the work done. When homework becomes the act of introducing new material outside of school, it becomes a problem. However, that falls to the fault of the state system which demands more material to be covered than feasible.

Hehe… I like logic skills:stuck_out_tongue:

EVERYTHING

I HATE DRESS CODE AND GYM MOST

^Ugh, gym. Don’t even remind me of that.
