I’ve noticed this with this article
and other ones I can no longer find… articles tagged as stubs and other things don’t show up under the category pages, nor under search results. So far the only way I’ve been able to find them is via typing in the URL myself (assuming that I can remember it).
So how do I find these articles? Usually I look by category but they no longer show up at all there. I would like to be able to locate them so I can spruce them up…

I believe the best way to find these is under our full search, which includes deindexed articles: https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Search
If you want a full list of all the articles in a given category, you can also shoot me an email and I can send you an Excel of the titles

Hang in there on this – but sneak peak update: Bebeth is going to work on trying to get these articles to show logged-in from category view. It’s a tough balance trying to make only really helpful articles accessible to readers who want top notch advice but articles in need of work discoverable for editors who want to fix them up! Hopefully a bit more tech tinkering and we can get to a happy compromise
Thanks, Anna! In the mean time, the search special is really useful. I was able to find and boost several articles that I had been unable to find before.
I like the idea of these articles showing in category view for logged-in members, and not to the general public. That way editors can find them, but random people looking for quality advice won’t see them. It’s a good idea.
Another possibility would be to make the deindexed articles visually distinct, such as fading their preview images a little, to show that they haven’t yet become fully visible.
