Do there exist any style standards regarding the format of articles? If not, it seems detrimental to lack them, and I’m probably not the first person to be discouraged by someone’s arbitrary reversal of my work. For example, it makes sense to me for the math related articles to have formulas, equations and such LaTeX formatted in <math> (which can be done with the editor toolbar, assuming you know the correct syntax) tags, as it ensures they display properly in various browsers, and also makes it much easier to pick out the important information from the rest of the instructions. Having plain text math interspersed among regular text can give one a headache trying to sort things out. Yet I’m surely not about to undertake the project of improving the math articles in this way when its very likely someone will come along and revert it with no justification.
It is my guess that many people have been turned off from contributing here by people making up their own rules as they go along. Just my two cents.</math>
Hey @CaptainFrosty
- I took a look at your contribution history and it looks like the edits you’re referring to were reverted by new patrollers who don’t quite know the LaTeX formatting yet. Your edits were put back by other contributors who spotted the mistakes.
