What if you found this awesome wikiHow author who writes articles about a game you really like, and you wanted to be notified every time that author creates a new article? Or what if you wanted to have a quick link to their profile, either for friend/formal purposes? All of these could easily be accomplished in one way- the ability to heart authors. Think about the “hearting” of authors in the following ways: *A watchlist, only for authors instead of articles. *A quick way to access someone’s profile. *A way to show gratitude to another user. One thing I think should be discussed if this idea is suggested is whether or not the number of hearts a user has should be optionally publically displayed.

This confused me,so I just thought of it like “following” people on Twitter, or “friending” them on FB. Is this similar to what you were thinking?

I think this would be a good idea as well, but who you were/are following should be private, IMO.

The person who is hearted (I guess) should be the one to decide whether to display or hide the hearts he/she has received, and each heart will be anonymous. The heart sender would have no indication on their page (but would know from the watchlist or something) that they are hearting anyone. Is this the right idea?

I personally think it’s a good idea overall, could you just explain (Elaborate) a bit more about how this could work? June Days

That sounds good… So long as users can’t see who hearted a different user, I think it’s a great idea.

Awsome idea. You could just do this on your user page: {{CoffeeLover| CoffeeLover}} to have a quick link.

Spot on.

Huuuuhhh???

It would work like this… 1) “Hearting” a user would allow you to get notified (through email) every time they made a new article. Anyone can heart any user, but only you and the receiving user know you it is. 2) The receiver has the option to show on their userpage how many hearts they have on their userpage. If they decide to show them, then it would have something like a heart with a number inside it (the number of hearts they’ve received) but it doesn’t say who the hearts are from. 3) And so on…

Your way is more advanced that my suggestion.

Having a quick link isn’t the only purpose of being able to heart authors.

I know. It was my first idea that came to mind.

So that is why it is more advanced than your suggestion.

IZ knows my very…Not the best working, brain. And she. explained it perfectly - Thanks! June Days
