Uh… just take all your problems about Pokemon here. I know there’s a Pokemon Battle somewhere in the forum games, but I don’t really think questions belong in the middle of a battle.

But I have a question anyway… who plays Super Mystery Dungeon? I fainted in the Submerged Cave, floor 8, very difficult. But can I post my rescue code here without anything personal about me revealed or whatnot? I’m really uptight about privacy but if your 3DS has your birthday then… let’s just say bad things will happen if I make even one small slip.

So basically can I post my rescue code here and still be anonymous?

I don’t have Super Mystery Dungeon, but I imagine that you can post your rescue code without anything more personal being revealed about you, similarly to posting your 3DS friend code. I mostly play the main games; I’ve never played the Mystery Dungeon games. I still love the Pokemon series, however. I recently got my event Mew and will be getting the rest of the event Pokemon being given out this year.

I’ve gotten two healing looplets on my Pokemon. Unfortunately my partner is a Turtwig (and Turtwigs are kinda tanky) and my player is Torchic. Ulps.

Before I went into the dungeon, I stocked up on lots of things like Reviver and Tiny Reviver seeds, oran berries, sleep seeds, wands (tons), gravelerocks, and more. But since this level is as hard as a rock these items are all gone. I’ve gotten a progress device from Cofarigus (or however you spell it) except at the time Kecleon didn’t have any and I used most of my gold bars (which was not much) on reviver seeds. I wasn’t aware of the Berry Forest.

most walkthroughs say that for this dungeon you need at least level 30, but this game is always about the items. I can get KOed because of my poor type matchup.

Thanks, I guess I’ll verify that before posting. Wanna be extra safe… but anyway I like the main series too!

Blackcats, since you’ve got Torchic you actually may be able to squeeze through at lvl 22.:slight_smile:Are you trying to save gold bars? If not, you could always rush through them and try to muscle through that part of it. If you’re trying to get through it seamlessly, however, you probably want to level up a bit! Your moves actually look fine and will obviously improve with time, so don’t worry about that too much! If you need any help, say the word.:slight_smile:Mystery dungeon was a lot of fun. You’re inspiring me to play it again!

Uh… I thought growl was useful and it kinda helped in boss thingies so that’s why I kept it. I kept Fire Spin because that way I could run away and gain some HP while they’re losing some.

I had no idea why I didn’t try to suicide run these things during the filler days… *sighs*

I’m a conservative with Hawlucha… maybe I shouldn’t have done that. I was trying to be a bit smarter (ulp)

I did know I could choose my partner. I clicked no to Chespin (because he really is kinda sucky, have to agree) and chose Turtwig. I didn’t think about the actual type and stuff. I only thought about my two latest starter pokemon, then chose them. o.o…

By the way, for when you get to the boss battle in the ghost part (if you haven’t gotten there yet) blast seeds take out tons. They’re pretty useful.

Ok. Thanks! I’ve been looking for boxes to get gold bars, but I guess it’s not reliable.:stuck_out_tongue:Oh well!(oh really oh well?)

Aha, yeah, just keep playing.:slight_smile:It sounds like you’re playing very intuitively! Awesome! Most people grind until they get profit. You probably should have sr’d earlier in the game when you had a chance, but whatever, no harm no foul.:slight_smile:And good advice for WoE about the blast seeds. That took me a sec to figure out when I got there lol.

Yeah. I had a few and so I used them, but a Dragonair killed me. What a waste.:stuck_out_tongue:And I had no clue how guiding wands were used, so I didn’t bring them. Ugh.

yeah, I read the storyline after somewhere in the middle and there weren’t very many filler days to grind up. I thought of it but I was kinda nervous about the storyline so ulps…

^ Cool. Thanks.

My favorite: dialga, Mespirit, and Houndour/Houndoom. Maybe Sheildon/Bastiodon too, but they are extremely weak to water. Also, garchomp is pretty good, but only because he’s Dragon-type.

Ah. I got a shiny Dialga in my White 2:smiley:

Uh… went to Game Stop:stuck_out_tongue:

Pokemon Sun and Moon were announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, as seen in this video . No direct gameplay footage, though there’s some footage of concept art at the end of the video.

Ohhh I’m getting moon. No doubt about it.

Whuzzat?:stuck_out_tongue:

I have just started playing Super Mystery Dungeon (as it just been released in this country recently) so i cannot help you but have you ever watched walkthroughs on Youtube? Also what Pokemon are you and your partner? Bad type combinations and movesets= you won’t get past that level whatsoever… and items too are important.

You should always bring at least 5 reviver seeds (tiny ones are cheaper and easier to find), 4 apples (normal size ones are okay and easier to find), 5 elixirs (max elixirs are perfect if you have some), 1 or 2  luminous orbs if you have them, a few other orbs to deal with monster houses and wands too! Looplets are good too if you know what emeras are useful. Use emera-up orbs if you find one or have one on you, carry with you plenty of berries and other seeds like pure seeds and blast seeds.

Good emeras:

Barrage

Power boost X and Y together (have them both on for ultimate damage)

Super Critical

Toughness (good one for lower level Pokemon)

Status Mirror

Trapproof (uncommon but quite handy in a lot of dungeons)

Dizzying stare or something similar

Payback

Lullaby or something similar

Status Guard (very rare but useful)

Looplets with more than 3 notches are you best option, the Weather looplet and the Detect looplet are some of the best ones that i know of :)

Just tell me who you are and who your partner is and tell me your movessets, what moves you and your partner knows and I might be able to help you :)

Hmmm you have a good type matchup and items are set but moveset is your BIG problem and you being quite low level for the part of the game. Level 24 or higher would have been better, level 30 at that point? I don’t think so… that would make it a lot easier but I have seen people get past the whole game while level 20s :)

Marriland’s walkthrough is one of them, he completed the game without being high level.

Your moveset is terrible however, you need powerful moves now! Fire spin sucks, still know tackle at this point? Razor leaf is fine, mega drain should be around the corner for Turtwig, they are bulky in Hp so they are useful. Sand tomb is pretty useful I guess, until you get TM Dig or another move strong than sand tomb, good for taking out electric types. Low kick is good for know, why do you STILL know growl? Could’ve taught yourself Attract which is the first TM you get in the game, I got it and taught a friendly Vulpix cuz me nor my partner are female (surprising isn’t it?)…

I am Riolu, not the best in defense or HP but attack is high and comes with Vaccum Wave and Bite, psychic and ghost weakness is covered and vaccum wave hits from afar…

My partner is Froakie. It knows Aerial Ace, a move that never misses and covers his grass weakness, also knows bubble, quick attack and lick for now. I am only level 15 and just got to the ghost story in the school part:slight_smile:Vulpix might not be as fast but it covers bug and grass types pretty well and it knows quick attack too :)

Did you know you can manually choose your partner? Yeah it automatically does it for you but you can just say no and pick it yourself, it originally picked Chespin which isn’t that great and plus 2 pokemon weak to flying types? Bad idea! So I chose Froakie, yeah you would have said Pikachu would be more suitable but…Pikachu is overrated and actually pretty weak for most of the game until it reaches higher levels, like 40 ish… yeah. That has been my experience with it…

Riolu and Froakie to the rescue! Yeah! These 2 are quite fast as well, I have Vulpix on me cuz it is same level as me and it knows Attract which is rather handy in this game, has been in previous mystery dungeon games at least.

You need to teach yourself better moves and level up a little bit at least then you are set! :)

I have played every single mystery dungeon game except GoI since they removed the personality quiz in that game… urgh!

Let me just tell you, I have played Mystery dungeon enough times to know what is the best movesets, items, abilities, type matchups, etc. I can tell you for sure that what you have as moves is bad, you still know basic moves like growl and tackle at a point you shouldn’t know them! I have also played every single main game since Red blue and green (which was a gift from my cousin while he was visiting Japan)… trust me, I know!

For torchic, you should know flame burst by now or should learn it soon, it is more powerful than ember and hits nearby enemies too. Low kick is fine, fire spin I guess is fine for now and get rid of Growl for crying out loud, you shouldn’t know it at this point!

Turtwig: Razor leaf is fine, sand tomb is good for now, replace absorb for mega drain and get rid of tackle… Turtwig learns bite at some point, don’t know why it doesn’t know it now! Bite is a bit better than tackle and can make enemies flinch!

Use Serebii’s or Marriland’s online pokedex to find out when Pokemon learn moves, the levels pokemon learn moves on the main games is the same for mystery dungeon. Since you don’t evolve until the aftergame, however, you might learn moves earlier than your evolved forms or for some pokemon, they might learn moves a little earlier if you are lucky but most of the time, it is the same.

Blast seeds are pretty awesome, in the previous games they weren’t so useful but now they do 100 fixed damage :D

Pure seeds are rare and are awesome, use them if you ever find one! Guiding wands are useful for tricky dungeons too

I have played mystery dungeon with every single Pokemon combo and only completed the games with a few of them.

Riolu

Pikachu (once)

Charmander

Squirtle

Treecko

Mudkip

Chimchar

Shinx

Totodile

Chikarita (cannot spell its name)

Turtwig (once)

I will try every new Pokemon since I missed out on GoI but Fennekin, froakie, snivy and oshawott will be the best as Chespin and Tepig aren’t that strong or good in general.

That is it. Any of these are your best bet :)

In this game you don’t get legendaries until after game/postgame and Garchomp is aftergame too. Shieldon is defensive but slow and terribly weak against water and fighting

Hondour is a fire type, also weak against water and doesn’t do well against fairy types even though his fire type makes it normal hit… Houndomm though in general is pretty good with high Sp atk and good speed.
