I’m thinking of creating a UIB for users of the Welcome Wagon feature to spread the word. I tested it in my userspace and would like to hear your thoughts. http://www.wikihow.com/User:Adelaide1230/Test-Uib

I like it! I just wish it said ‘to assist new users’ or something, instead of wikiLove. Keep in mind that the ‘badge’ may change (although unlikely) so you might need to edit the UIB at some point. And, I’m pretty unfamiliar with UIB’s, all I know is the basics, and how difficult it is, but…Is there anyway the image can be centered? Looks a bit wacky over on the side. I like the colors. If you want to get *really* picky, you could make it the color of the redesign.
Thanks for the feedback
I edited the UIB according to it. And, I’m wondering what the color of the redesign is?

If you go to one of the redesign threads Jack has posted, you can use a hex code picker and use that color in the UIB. If you don’t want to do it, though, that’s fine.
It’s a pretty picky detail.
Thanks, but I’d rather stick with it being green for now
Moving to UIB space. Please let me know if you see anything else that can be modified. Thanks!

It’s really good! It is possible to crop the white bit in the end?

Nop, I’ve tried it. It doesn’t work.

I suppose a UIB is good… but isn’t the ribbon sufficient?

Yeah, I wrote about that concern in the thing I wrote before, but I thought I might get some backlash from the parts of the community that like those sorts of things, so I edited it out. I mean, there’s already UIBs for being a booster and and an admin (and a FA author I assume, although I don’t recall seeing one yet) so I guess it’s alright. On the booster list they even have a note telling you to put that UIB on your page if you want. I think it’s just something that some users will like, although I personally think it’s a bit useless and the ‘badge’ or ‘ribbon’ is just fine.

-shrugs- It’s a matter of personal preference I suppose. I’m thinking no one is going to actually scroll down to read my UIB’s… but perhaps I’m mistaken.
Well, some people might not have the badge on their profile?
I mean, some people might decide to hide their wikiHow stats, and the badges on their profile, so maybe a UIB would show it in that case, I suppose?
Here @Adelaide1230
, I have put a new image (with a transparent background) on the UIB. http://www.wikihow.com/Template:User-WW
See the slight change I made the UIB. Don’t use the term “author” on the UIB, instead use “editor” on any UIB.
It does look a bit large though and gawky looking, when compared to most other UIBs.
If it hangs down that much, if others were put underneath that, it’ll create a BUNCH of whitespace on the very next line underneath the UIB above the new UIB underneath.
Well, I did my best, and I wonder how to fix that!?

Put it at the bottom of the list, so spacing is not an issue? Take a screenshot of the badge, shrink it in Paint or Gimp, save it as smaller… and THEN insert it into the UIB template? Use smaller font for everything?

This is a “bit” smaller… but not by much. Feel free to tweak it to your heart’s content. Open to edit… copy it all… paste wherever… just leave my copy “as is” please. http://www.wikihow.com/User:Loiswade42/ww
