We currently have an absolutely insanebacklog on merge articles, a not-so ridiculously lunatic but still concerning title backlog, and a still pretty crazy {{nfd|dup}} backlog. There are currently 161
articles requesting title change in our title backlog, and there are more than that 2,170
in our merge backlog, not to mention a good solid lot of 537
articles in the {{nfd|dup}} backlog! If we could all take a little time to review these articles, that would be fantastic. Just vote on some title changes, review a merge, Scream at Coach editors for placing inappropriate tags, all of these will not really help the RC Monkey, but will still lead to a happy wikiHow, because it won’t have a bunch of naughty articles in it! I’ll try to help some, but I’m not an admin and frankly, I’m too lazy to review all (2,868 if you combine all these backlogs) articles. Any help would be appreciated! Here are some helpful links, provided I code them right. Merge Policy

There is no need to vote on title changes. Nor on merges, really, they just need to be dealt with.

@SudoKing
has been doing an awesome job with the nfd|dups since he took up that rather abandoned group after becoming an admin. It’s definitely beginning to look better from what I can see.

Thanks for the call to arms, Andrew!

Question: Can anyone merge an article, as long as an admin does the title-redirect stuff?

Absolutely, and it’s encouraged!

Woot! Follow-up question: can I post titles that need to be dealt with here, or elsewhere…? Sorry, I’ve not done this before really… Edit: Never mind, I did it! *blows horn* *whistles* *fireworks*
One of the reasons there are so many dup articles is because the nfd is placed on both articles when it should only be placed on the one to be merged from. If we find duplicate articles, we should look at both articles. If there is already a dup, we should decide the better article, and put a merge on the one, not the target. If time permits, go ahead and do a quick merge. I’ve found that many can be simply erased and redirected to the better of the two.
