It’s probably because if you’re just a reader of wikiHow, and look at the things you’ll need list before you read how to do it, it may put you off a little bit. Kind of like, explaining something in real life. You explain what you’ll need to do, and then get materials (things you’ll need) when you’re done explaining.

Actually, they can’t be ingredients but rather supplies. Instead of ‘Things You Will Need’ you would rather want to title the section ‘Ingredients’. Other than that, spot on.
