Not to do the merging, but to have something that will process the articles through it that we can say yea or nay about the merges. I think that would cut down on a lot of the suggested merges.

That’s a good idea:slight_smile:It would be cool if it only showed the two titles. But then again, sometimes the content doesn’t fit the title…but if we show the content then people might choose to merge titles that don’t mean the same thing. Hmmmm.

@Krystle : The idea could be restricted to NAB+ but I fully believe this tool could be one the entire community could use. Hopefully it’ll be wisely.

The tool likely would be dependent on the tag placment… so we’d need to educate folks in how and when to properly place a merge tag. It can be done several ways… {{merge}} {{merge|New Title Here}} {{merge|User generated comment here}} and can be done both on the talk page and in the article itself. I’m in favor of a tool to make this easier though. Merging is a complex task, and the backlog is historically huge.

And if they were gone through first to make SURE they needed merged, would be veryhelpful!

-wry smile- I’m thinking that the chore of reading both and determining eligibility for merging is 3/4ths of the work. The actual merge itself isn’t so bad once you’ve read everything through, thought it through and determined what needed to stay and what needed to go.
