I write with my left hand, I punch with my left hand, when I eat I hold my fork in my left hand. But I play guitar right handed, I throw right handed, I swing right handed. Would you consider this to be ambidextrous? It is really bugging the hell out of me. Thanks!:slight_smile:

You sound a lot like me. I am right handed, but I can do things with my right hand, like throw darts and eat…but I think it is more a matter of left handed and maybe right eyed.

I can play mini golf and sometimes find myself eating with my left hand despite I’m right handed. IMO, as long as a person can stabilize at least one activity with their non-writing hand (or primary hand), then it could be assumed that they are ambidextrous. According to Wikipedia, a person can be considered ambidextrous by doing many common things. Typing on the keyboard with both hands, juggling, boxing, and playing basketball.

I kind of agree with you, many people just think that to be ambidextrous you have to write with both hands.

That’s interesting! Yeah, I think it is. Most people do take ambidextrous being able to write with both hands.

i think you are ambi, i try playing pool with my left hand on the handle and my right hand on the tip, and it is difficult. now im right handed but good practice for hooked shots.

I’m ambidextrous, I write with both hands, eat left, brush teeth right, and so on… I think you could probably be as well.

As to the instrument, it doesn’t really count, as most lefties play instruments right-handed. If you were taught right-handed in terms of baseball, then that could either be because you defaulted to it or because it was normal, so I think it probably doesn’t mean your ambidextrous.

Yay lefties! i love being left handed! it sets me apart from most others at school. but im very ambidextrous… sports for me is the same for right and left. tried brushing my teeth left handed… the tooth brush won the battle… but he WILL NOT win the war! i seem to be equally both for most things…

As far as I know, I always do things with my right hand. O_o

It’s like almost everyone’s ambidextrous. Mostly, I do things with my right. Sometimes I do things with my left and sometimed I need both!
