Sailor Mars is one of the main characters in the manga and anime series Sailor Moon . She has a hot-tempered, stubborn personality. This tutorial will show you how to draw the fiery Sailor Mars.

  1. Use a long, curved line to represent the body's movement, a vertical rectangle for the torso, and a horizontal rectangle for the lower body. Use straight lines for the hands and legs (with circles for joints). Sketch rectangles for hands and feet.

  2. Outline the body and shape the face, hands, and feet. Make sure to define the waist and chest, and have the upper legs slightly thicker than the lower.
  3. Draw big eyes, a small nose, and a smiling mouth (following the guidelines). Make eyebrows above the eyes. Draw bangs on the forehead and shoulder length hair on the head, with accessories in them and a V-shaped diadem on the forehead.
    • For accessories, add in star-shaped earrings at the ears and a band on the neck.
    • Carefully erase the guidelines.
  4. Draw a sailor costume with a short, ruffled skirt, big bows at the back and on the chest (with a round brooch at the center), long gloves on her hands and dainty shoes on her feet.
    • Additionally, continue the hair along the lines that you began in the previous step.
  5. Sailor Mars' usual outfit is red, white, and purple as shown here, but you can give her whatever color scheme you'd like.

Can I do a chibi version of the guardians?
    Community Answer
Yes you could, but you would have to use a different tutorial.
  • Question
How do I make shades of colors on the picture?
    Community Answer
To make colors darker add black, and add white to make them lighter. But if you don't want to color use your pencil and press harder and softer where it feels natural.
