The cello is a bass instrument of the string family. This tutorial will teach you how to draw one.

  1. Erase the previous lines and draw a shape like an ice cream cone at the bottom. This will serve as a tailpiece. Add small circles on the edge of the long rectangle above.

  • Question
Can the cello be another color?

    Community Answer
Yes. The cello in the instructions is brown because most cellos are that color, but you can draw one any way you want.
  • Question
    What about the background?
    Community Answer
You can add musical notes on a stave surrounding it, or some sort of flower growing around it. It's up to you, though!
  • Question
Could it be drawn in 2-D using the same steps, but taking away the parts that make it look 3-D?
    Sylghouls
    Top Answerer
Sure! In order to accomplish this, you would need to avoid drawing the 3-D outline shown to the right of the cello body in the article pictures, then color as needed.
