My partner really wants me to give them a hickey, but I've never given one before. I want to try giving myself one before I try it on them, but I'm not sure what to even do. Any ideas on how to give a good hickey and make it show up?

It's actually pretty easy to give someone a hickey. Here's what to do:
  1. Start by making an O-shape with your lips and keeping them that way the entire time.
  2. Press your lips against their skin. The best spot to do it is on your partner's neck because the skin is pretty thin and the hickey will show up easily. If you're practicing on yourself, then try it on your arm or wrist.
  3. Suck on the skin pretty hard for about 15-30 seconds. A small nibble with your teeth might help the hickey show up even better.
  4. Give the hickey a few minutes to show up before trying again so it doesn't look like a big bruise.
It might take a couple of tries to figure out how hard you need to suck to make a hickey appear, but with a little practice, you'll get it!

When I first started out giving hickey, I wasn't sucking hard enough. Suck harder than you think you'll need to suck but not so hard that it hurts your partner. Pay attention to their reaction. If they don't seem like they're enjoying it, ease up. You should feel the skin being sucked slightly up in order for the hickey to actually show up.

The skin on your arm is thicker than the skin on your partner's neck, so if you're having trouble with getting a hickey to show up on your arm that doesn't necessarily mean you'll have trouble giving your partner a hickey on their neck. Try sucking harder.
