What are the best compliments to give a girl?
I'm talking to a girl from class and I want to compliment her to make her feel good about herself and hint I like her but I don't want to come off weird or awkward and I don't want to come on strong. What advice do you have for complimenting girls IRL/over text? What are your go-to compliments?
I feel like the best way to compliment a girl is to compliment her character or intelligence. For instance, if she's texting you and she's funny, compliment her sarcasm. Basically, compliment her character, because it's a lot more valuable than complimenting her on her looks. Don't get me wrong, everyone likes getting complimented on their looks. But when you compliment somebody on their looks consistently and she's used to hearing those compliments, it's not really that special anymore. So instead, compliment her on how smart she is, how intelligent she is, how cool, exciting, spontaneous, or adventurous she is.
I find that girls appreciate compliments on things that they worked hard for. For example, I used to date a girl who was working on her PhD. I took the time to understand her research and thesis and complimented her on her hard work. I could tell that the compliment really touched her! She was gorgeous and I also complimented her on her looks, but the compliments about her work resonated more with her.
If you're going to compliment a girl about her looks, go for something sweet. If you compliment her on anything like her chest or butt or curves, I think that will likely rub her the wrong way. Instead, it's better to compliment her on her smile or her eyes, or even her style because she has control over her style and complimenting her on it is also complimenting her taste.
I've had luck with giving girls compliments that are about how they make me feel or my relationship with them. It makes the compliment more personal and meaningful. Something like "You always brighten my day" or "I feel so at ease when I'm around you" helps to foster a sense of intimacy and connection. Good luck!
